About Irena McQuarrie

Irena comes from a varied and eclectic background. Born and raised in Skaneateles, NY; she received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Ithaca College in 2007. With this degree, Irena has been able to embark on a profession that has taken her all over the country and the world.
Irena has practiced physical therapy in New York, Hawaii, Washington, New Hampshire and Vermont, as well as abroad in South Africa and Haiti.

Additionally, Irena has been trained as a Reiki practitioner and yoga/movement practitioner which lends a hand to Irena’s holistically minded healing practice. This diverse foundation gives room to, and incorporates, a mind-body-spirit interconnection, allowing her to guide and coach each of her clients in their paths towards ultimate wellness. Irena has also had many persona lexperiences with self-healing through many unique modalities, providing her with great perspective and a strongly based feeling of empathy, compassion and understanding of the human condition and the journey of healing.

In 2016, Irena became involved with Musicians Without Borders (TM), an organization which specializes in using music to heal the wounds of war. Through this organization, Irena has been trained in community music leadership and conflict transformation. Irena is able to use music (specifically percussion) as a tool to bring people together regardless of language, ethnicity, geographic location, religion, age or upbringing. Irena believes that through use of music and through her knowledge of the human body, she can create a fun and positive healing force both for the individual client as well as for communities at large.

In her spare time, Irena enjoys hiking, yoga traveling, playing music and delving into as many new experiences as possible!
