2019: An Awesome Summer!
Daycamps 2019 welcomed 90 campers, 10 teen interns, and 15 leaders from far and near. It was a gathering of Equals with Welcome at the center. We are… humans, trees, vegetables, berries, orchard, pond, farm critters, amphibians, and super vital pollinators! At camp, we live a snapshot of a cooperative Way of Life we believe is possible.
Performances on Friday, August 9th culminated a week of West African dance, drumming, theater, & arts and marked the end of a summer of intensive outdoor & arts programming… of comings & goings; active listening; collaborating; and working with many challenges, feelings, and needs. We are happy to say that campers, teens, and grown-ups alike experienced creative, positive, and often extraordinary love. We can only do this together!
Yes, we can only do this together… so please come join us at our Pizza Fundraiser on Tuesday, August 27th at Orchard Hill Breadworks! We need funds to continue providing for youth of all ages and for adults. This is a delicious way to support our Community Center. :-) :-)
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
We give thanks to the many, many individuals and organizations who helped to make this summer possible, including… our friends and colleagues from Sankofa Dance Theater, all of our camp core and support staff, Acworth Community Charitable Trust, Acworth Conservation Commission, Alstead Conservation Commission, Cheshire County Conservation District, Marlow Children's Trust, Monadnock Developmental Services, Monadnock United Way, the Catalyst Fund of the New Hampshire Charitable Trust, Monadnock Waldorf School, the parents, friends, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, and other community members who supported our work.
