The Center Renovation and Renewal Project

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Our beautiful building needs some loving attention! We ask you to join us now and make a donation to support our Center Renovation Fund.

In the summer of 1994, over 350 volunteers gathered from near and far to contribute more than 3,000 hours of labor to build The Orchard School in one summer! Throughout the years, the generosity continued and we are standing on that foundation of giving. This unique public gathering space continues to be a hub of the community, hosting programs year round for all ages. Join with us as we give this building the loving attention it needs!

As the exciting energy of spring and summer planning is underway, it is time for us to turn toward some very practical “nuts and bolts” to make this place a safe and wonderful home for our programs and events:

  • The deck off the great room needs a new foundation, staircase and railing.

  • Our front porch needs new decking.

  • The pond needs a new raft, changing rooms, and a truckload of sand.

  • The entire interior of the building needs a paint job. It’s been at least a decade!!

We need about $10,000 to get this work done. Any amount you can contribute will be very much appreciated!

Like so many of us, we have looked deeply inward in recent years and we have emerged with a subtle but profound shift in priorities. Our work now more than ever center gratitude, wellness, creativity, and fun! We changed our name to The Center at Orchard Hill to honor what we do now, which is to serve as a Center of our Community, offering ways for all ages to engage here. We have a new website, which makes it so easy for us to communicate with you, and we have committed to reaching out monthly with a newsletter to let you know what is happening here. This is only the first of two times during the year that we will reach out directly for donations. We hope you will get involved!

With hope and heart and so much gratitude,
Eleanor and Andrea
